"An old wise man once said, "When you get to the end of a book, close it"
Let's close the book on a state that constantly ranks near the bottom in so many important parts of our lives and economy! This is not the time for a new chapter in a failing book. This is the time to write a new book. One that has RI flourishing, families thriving, an economy boosting, education on the rise, a leader in conservation, a place where small business is the "big guy" in RI!
Not only does it cost you at the pump, your paying for it everywhere, food, deliveries, services that charge you fuel surcharge. Remember the Democrats voted NO to give you a tax break on fuel. Also remember that the same Democrats voted to put tolls on the highways, those costs to the trucking companies are passed on to you!
Its time to give parents back the say in their child's education. Covid-19 has put a huge strain on children, not only educationally but also mentally. We need restore a strong emphasis on quality education for everyone! I will fight to return education to appropriate subjects and fight to give teachers the resources they need to succeed.
The State Budget has grown out of control. In 2019, in one of the strongest economies ever, we fell 600 million short on 9.37 billion budget. Think about the economy during 2020 till now under covid! We fell short in 2019, our legislators response in 2022? APPROVE a 13.6 billion dollar budget. The 1.13 Billion in Covid relief funds? They went right into the budget! Democrats have voted in a budget that will set up RI for failure! All the meanwhile they voted no to help you. They VOTED NO ON REPEALING GAS TAX, they VOTED NO ON LIHEAP (Low Income Energy assistance this winter), they VOTED NO ON RESTORING COLA's AND PLUGGING GAPS IN OUR PENSION SYSTEM, they VOTED NO AGAINST YOUNG WOMEN (See FY23 Budget amendment 5). My opponent voted NO on all these amendments. The Democrats are no longer for the working class, they are at the state house to serve merely at the pleasure of special interests!
Let us not forget the past. Our prices for everyday items are constantly rising in price. Let us not forget who voted for the tolls on our highways, as trucking companies pass the cost on to us, its contributing to a very fragile economy that is suffering from record inflation. All the mean while our Governor keeps us in a phantom state of emergency and our Democrat representation simply sits back and VOTES NO TO HELPING YOU!
Our opponent voted YES on the tolling gantries. Recently, these tolls were ruled unconstitutional and were immediately shutdown. These tolls were the true start of inflation here in RI. Ask yourself this question, do you trust our opponent to vote no on tolling all vehicles after she already Yes on their initial construction? As your next state representative I will vote NO to any tolls!
